Our Events
Welcome to our eco-conscious community, where we promote sustainable actions. Join us in making a positive impact, one thoughtful choice at a time.
Community Advocacy
Mayors Monarch Pledge Event
Each year, Apple Valley Eco Advocates members partner with Dakota County to provide outreach and best practices to support monarch butterflies. Free face painting is always a ‘draw’ for the kids, and the adults like the fee milkweed giveaways provided by Dakota County Parks. Hope to see you at the next one!
Community Outreach
Apple Valley Food Truck Festival
During the first food truck festival hosted by the City in 2024, members of Apple Valley Eco Advocates helped attendees sort their leftovers into the appropriate receptacles for recycling, organics, or waste. Together, we can forge a greener future with hands-on support and outreach.
Community Care
Buckthorn Busts
In September 2024,Apple Valley Eco Advocates hosted the inaugural buckthorn bust in Alimagnet Park. Buckthorn shades out native woodland species, and leads to soil erosion that degrades the quality of Alimagnet Lake. AVEA will be taking on the buckthorn annually until its eradicated!
